It seems like in every country, we know that yellow or orange signs signal caution. But that doesn’t mean these signs have to be boring and the same! I’ve noticed that “Slippery When Wet” signs vary quite a bit. The above sign is my favorite — this guy knows how to slip and land on his bum Broadway Style. Jazz hands everyone!
The following photos are part of the Slipping with Style collection.

Ski Cooper, Colorado. Skiers may know a few things about falling so there’s nothing wrong with adding some style — like the can can
Love the high kick on this one. Time to do the Can Can Save!
The Helicopter Hand: And why wouldn’t vigorously waving your hand propel you back to an upright position?

Slide into base while you slip with this technique.

I really wish there was a tray launching food and beverages included in this slippery sign. It looks like a classic cartoon slip in which the character falls in slow motion.

This guy looks ready for a Limbo Landing from this slippery slide.

From the look of his hand position, this person looks pissed. I think he’s flipping off something here. Or he’s doing the Mafia “You’re Dead to Me” hand gesture.

Where is this guy walking? Through Shamu’s show area at Sea World? At least Canada is indicating that the surface is really really wet in this sign.

This graceful fall looks like an ice skater who botched the sit spin. It’s the Ice Capades Catch.

This looks like the victim is trying to be sexy while he falls into the Seductive Save.

Now this stick figure porn star is just plain saying, “Come Hither, I’ve fallen.”

This is actually an Uneven Surface sign and check out this figure! He is launching off that small obstruction in the floor. I don’t think this one is going to end pretty.
Hilarious. I’ve never noticed the subtle stick language of these signs. Good eye, Steph. 🙂
Thanks, Julie — I’m somewhat obsessed with stick figures and stick language. I’ll probably be posting some more random observations. It’s been a while since I’ve been to Europe, so let me know if there’s a European style to the Sticks. 🙂
This proves that there is a story behind every detail! Very funny!
Thank you! I’m really too busy to be bored, but my imagination seems to need a constant workout. I’m probably going to do another post about the people in airline safety brochures since they never seem to look panicked or freaked out. Cheers 🙂
I’ll be waiting! Cheers!

Jazz hands is the best slippery when wet sign ever.
I know! Jazz Hands actually inspired the whole collection. I’m wondering if there are more jazz hands out there — like Jazz Hands using the fire exit or Jazz Hands climbing on top of a dumpster he shouldn’t. I’d love to see Jazz Teens on their way to school. Thanks for the comment.
Great collection, and clever titles Stephanie. I’ve never paid much attention to SWW signs, but I certainly will from now on. ~James
Thanks, James! For some reason, stick figures in signs have always caught my eye. I probably will be posting some more interesting ones (at least in my opinion).
Haha… this was fun. I’m going to start noticing the illustrations on signs from now on!
It starts to become addicting. I saw a post similar to this one on stick figures using the fire escapes — Hilarious! Thanks for checking it out. Cheers!
